| From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences. |
| From the View menu, choose Network. |
| Choose Internal Modem from the Show pop-up menu (the "Configure" pop-up menu prior to Mac OS X 10.1). |
| Click the PPP tab. |
| Select the checkbox for "Connect using PPP" |
| Type your username in the Account Name field. If your username is 'superman', enter it as superman@hvi.net |
| Type your password in the Password field. If you want all users of this computer to use the same connection method, select the checkbox for "Save password" |
| Enter the local dial-up access number. |
| Click on the options button and insure that it is set to connect automatically when needed. The idle timeout and disconnect options are personal preference. |
